Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop | Theme: Technique

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects created using a special crafting technique. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what your favourite technique is.

I have chosen to create a project using the Stained Glass on Vellum technique.

Here is my card:

I decided on a yellow colour theme, so I have used Daffodil Delight & Whisper White cardstock for my card base.

Using Versamark on a sheet of vellum, I stamped my rose from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set. I only inked up part of the large rose image as I didn't want to include the large leaf part of the stamp. I then heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.

Then using my Stampin' Write markers, I coloured in the image on the reverse side of the vellum (so the side without the embossing powder). I went with Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight & So Saffron for my rose and Garden Green & Wild Wasabi for the leaf.

Using my Square Framelits, I cut out a window panel in my Daffodil Delight card front to adhere my vellum to. I then attached this to a Whisper White card base.

My sentiment, which is also Silver heat embossed, comes from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and is cut out using a tag from the Popcorn Box Thinlits set.

To finish off my card and include a little more bling, I added a couple of Silver sequins and some Silver Metallic Thread.

The end result, if you ask me, really looks like a stained glass rose. What do you think?

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope you'll join us again next month to see our 3D projects.

    1. Thanks so much Sue :) My Mum used to make stained glass windows, so I grew up with them and this image just has stained glass written all over it. And the Silver embossing, I feel makes it more realistic.
