Calling all heroes! Calling all heroes!
Assistance required to help wish a 7 year old a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
My oldest son just turned 7 and he requested a Super Hero card for his birthday, after I'd made a few quick Super Hero note cards to go on presents for some birthday parties he has been invited to recently.
I was having a bit of a creative block and came across this weeks CAS(E) this sketch! Sketch Challenge #230, which helped inspire my card layout.
Here is my card:
There would be some of you out there who own this fantastic set or may know someone who has it and would be willing to let you have a play.
If not, I am sure there would be some current stamps or other stamps in your stash that you could use as a substitute, or perhaps you could create some fun punch art.
The city skyline, super hero mask, lightening strike, lettering and dot pattern are all from the retired Calling All Heroes stamp set.
I went with Whisper White, Night of Navy & Daffodil Delight for my colour scheme.
I considered adding some red, but couldn't bring myself to use Real Red on these photopolymer stamps just yet.
Who else has chosen their colour scheme based on not wanting to stain their photopolymer stamps? Surely I'm not the only one :) Perhaps I should just do it, then I won't have to worry from now on.
My city skyline was stamped in Night of Navy on some Daffodil Delight cardstock and also on some Whisper White. I fussy cut the Whisper White image and used dimensionals to adhere it over the top of the Daffodil Delight image, to try and give it a 3D look.
The super hero mask was cut out using my Layering Circles framelits and was also adhered to my card with dimensionals.
I stamped the dot pattern on some Whisper White and cut out my 7 using the Large Number framelits.
My son loved his card and I hope you do to.
EDIT: I am excited to share that my card was selected as a CTS Favourite for Challenge #230 :)
