Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Wendy Lee

Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special Crazy Crafters team blog hop.

We are hopping with a special guest - The very creative Wendy Lee from the United States.

The theme of this blog hop was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Wendy's cards.

Here is the card of Wendy's that I chose to CASE:

Here is my version:

I really liked Wendy's card layout, so I've used a similar layout using the Ribbon of Courage stamp set and a colour palette of Berry Burst and Sweet Sugarplum. These 2 colours work really well together.

My sentiment and the floral hearts are stamped in Berry Burst ink and I have coloured parts of each heart using Sweet Sugarplum ink and a blender pen.

Rather than tie a bow in my ribbon like Wendy's card, I decided to bunch up my Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon across my card instead. I really like the effect and I think it suits the card theme nicely.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)

Ink & Share Blog Hop | Theme: Sale-A-Bration

Hello and thanks for stopping by :)

Today I am participating in the Ink & Share Blog Hop, where every month a number of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world hop together to share our creations to help inspire you in your paper crafting journey. My name is Kirsten, and I am from Canberra, Australia. "G'Day" :)

This is our first hop and we are all very excited to be sharing our projects inspired by this months theme: Sale-A-Bration

I have a number of the wonderful Sale-A-Bration products on offer this year, however I am not really sure which is my favourite as I have a few. What about you? What is your favourite?

For todays card I have used the Epic Celebration stamp set as I needed to make a special request birthday card for a music lover/musician, and this set was just perfect.

My card layout was inspired by this weeks Global Design Project #126 Sketch Challenge.

I decided I wanted to use a single colour for my card and I chose a colour from the Brights collection that I don't use very often, which turned out to be Tangerine Tango.

It is good to challenge yourself every now and again by using colours you wouldn't normally use. Tangerine Tango is a fab colour, but I always find I grab either Pumpkin Pie (Brights) or Calypso Coral (Subtles) depending on the orange tone I am going for.

Here is my card:

To get started, I stamped the headphones image on to some Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using an oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits.

My Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the Picture Perfect Birthday set (in the Occasions Catalogue), and I cut it out using the washi tape shape from the Mini Treat Bag thinlits set.

The dot pattern background on my card base was created by using the stamp with 6 little dots from the Epic Celebrations set and repeatidily stamping it using Tangerine Tango ink.

I was going to colour some White Baker's twine using my Tangerine Tango ink, but I came across a small stash of retired Tangerine Tango striped Baker's Twine, which I ended up using for the headphones cable.

Using my paper piercing tool, I put a small hole in my cardstock next to the headphone image. I then pushed the twine through the hole and adhered it to the back with some tape.

Then I just let the twine do what it wanted, and adhered my washi shaped sentiment over the top to help hold it down. A tiny dot of Tombow was used to help hold the twine in one spot.

Lastly, I decorated the inside a little using two more stamps from Epic Celebrations.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
