Pals Paper Arts #297 | Colour Challenge

Hello and thanks for stopping by.

Todays post is an entry I created for this weeks Pals Paper Arts Colour Challenge #297.

The challenge was to use Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party together in a project. I've never used these colours together before and had a lot of fun creating my card.

Here is my card:

I used Pool Party cardstock for my base and then layered a whisper white die cut from my retired Bigz Lattice die and topped the lattice with Wisteria Wonder & Daffodil Delight flowers cut from the Botanical Builder Framelits set using my Big Shot.

The sentiment was stamped in Pool Party and cut out using the banner from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits set. The sentiment is part of the Crazy about You stamp set and the die cut "You" is part of the co-ordinating Hello You Thinlits set.

To finish off the space between the stamped sentiment and the die cut "You", I used a small piece of Pool Party washi tape from the Beach House Designer Washi tape set.

Finally to add some glitter detail to the large Daffodil Delight flowers, I used some Dazzling Details in the centre of each flower.

I hope you enjoy my card and thanks for visiting to see my creation.

The Paper Players #291 | Clean-and-Simple Challenge : Butterflies

Welcome,

Today I want to share a super quick and easy card that I created which fits in with this weeks creative challenge over on The Paper Players blog.

This week is the Clean-and-Simple Challenge #291 : Butterflies

Here is the bright and cheerful card I am entering in the challenge:

This one was super easy to create. The bright rainbow background was created with washi tape. I just grabbed the bright tapes out of my washi collection and stuck them down to a piece of white cardstock, which was then stuck to my card front with double sided tape.

The gorgeous butterfly was cut from white cardstock using my Big Shot and the medium sized butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits die set from Stampin' Up! and adhered to the washi tape background with 2 small glue dots under the body of the butterfly.

The sentiment used is a favourite of mine. It was stamped in Tempting Turquoise and comes from the Stampin' Up! Label Love stamp set and was punched out with the coordinating Artisan Label punch. Both of these items are sadly retired, however any shaped sentiment would work in their place. The sentiment was also adhered to the washi tape background with a glue dot.

I had lots of fun creating this card and just looking at the bright colours makes me smile. I hope my card brings a smile to your face too.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you come back and visit me again soon.

Global Design Project #031 | Theme Challenge: Nature

Hello and welcome to my blog.

For todays post I have decided to take part in a theme challenge that I found over on the Global Design Project blog.

Their creative challenge this week was a Nature theme. And so I've created a card that I think fits the bill.

Here is my card:

To create this card I have used stamps from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. The Melon Mambo butterfly has been cut out using the smaller die from the co-ordinating Butterflies Thinlits set.

The 3D flower was made using the Spiral Flower Originals die with 2 different shades of pink cardstock die cuts spiralled together, with the petal edges rolled over a little. This took me a little bit of fiddling to get it to look the way I was wanting, but love how it turned out.

I am quite pleased with my card and I hope you like it too.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you visit again soon :)

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest - Brian King

Hello and welcome to my very first blog post and blog hop in one.

I decided to make my first jump into the world blogging a pretty nerve racking one, by joining a very special Crazy Crafters Blog Hop.

I couldn't miss out on joining the Crazy Crafters team in this hop, as it's a super exciting one! We will be hopping with a special guest - The amazing Brian King.

The theme of this blog was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Brian's cards.

Here is the card of Brian's that I chose to CASE:

I just loved the layout and simplicity of this card and I had a perfect stamp set in mind that I wanted to ink up. To checkout Brian' card in more detail click here.

Here is my version:

The flower is from the Remarkable You stamp set and the sentiment came from the Floral Wings Hostess stamp set.

Even though I am not really a "Pink" person, I just love the intense colour of Melon Mambo. So the card is mostly Melon Mambo with a dash of Pear Pizzazz. I water coloured the flower using my ink pads and an aqua painter on some water colour paper. I was pretty happy with how my first attempt at water colouring turned out.

I didn't have any thick striped Designer Series Paper in Melon Mambo, so I made the stripy background myself using the Stripes mask from the Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks set. I've had this mask set for quite sometime and this was the first time it was removed from its pack - I was amazed at how easy it was to use and what a great looking background it was able to create. I'll have to keep these out so they get used more often.

After turning my craft room upside down I couldn't find any white twine, so I went for some Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon instead for the cute bow at the bottom of the card.

I am really pleased with how my card turned out and I hope you like it too.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my creation.

Don't forget to continue the hop all the way around to see what the very creative Crazy Crafters team have come up with.
