Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop | Theme: Kids/Male Inspiration

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects inspired by our Kids/Male theme. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects.

I chose to create a quick and simple masculine card for my project today. When I am having a bit of a creative block I always like to go and check out a few creative challenges for some inspiration. And so for my card today my colour palette was inspired by the latest Color Throwdown #549 colour challenge and my layout was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #394 sketch challenge. My card also fits in with the latest Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #SUOC226 - Birthdays.

**********************************

I interpreted the blue, orange and grey colours in the Color Throwdown challenge in to Stampin' Up! colours Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie and Gray Granite, plus I added some Whisper White.

As mentioned, this was a quick and super easy card to put together.

I started by die cutting all the gears from the Garage Gears Dies set in Gray Granite. Next I cut a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and stamped my sentiment (from the Geared Up Garage stamp set) in Blueberry Bushel ink in the top corner.

Using Multipurpose liquid glue I adhered my die cut gear pieces to the Pumpkin Pie strip (after I'd had a play with how I wanted them laid out). And then adhered some Whisper White cardstock strips (that were in my scrap pile... gotta love when you can use up your scraps) to the back of the Pumpkin Pie strip.

My cardbase is Blueberry Bushel and I wanted to add a little texture so I decided to use my Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder. I cut a Blueberry Bushel card front and ran it through my big shot. This was then adhered to my card base, followed by the Pumpkin Pie panel and then... voila! a finished card :)

International Highlights June Winners Blog Hop | Theme: Encouragement

Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special International Blog Hop for the winners of Kylie Bertucci's June International Blog Highlight. Our theme for this highlight was Encouragement.

Anyone and everyone was able to vote for their favourite cards and based on the total votes received, the top 10 winners were announced and I came 3rd (well actually equal 2nd) - YAY :) A big THANKYOU to all those who voted for my card.

Below is the Free As A Bird encouragement card I entered. If you would like more details or information on this card, click here or on the below image to be taken to my post.

All 10 winners were invited to participate in this special International Highlight Blog Hop. Our theme for this hop is also Encouragement.

My latest Encouragement themed card was also created using the Free As A Bird stamp set (which is a new favourite of mine).

The layout for my card today was inspired by the latest Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #462. My colour palette was inspired by the rainbow VW Combi image in the latest Fusion Challenge.

Plus I added some ribbon so it fits in with our latest Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Facebook Group "Add Ribbon" Challenge #AWLSU033. So I have a bonus Admin Inspiration creation :)

******************************

The colour palette for my card uses the 2018-20 In Colors: Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch.

I am a big fan of BRIGHTS, so this In Color group is my favourite. The new 2019-21 In Colors are pretty, but a little pale for my liking however I am sure they'll grow on me.

I started off by stamping the bird image from the Free As A Bird stamp set in Memento Black Ink on some Whisper White cardstock, cut it out using a large square from the Stitched Shapes Dies set and then coloured it using my Stampin' Blends. The colours used were to tie in to the In Colors I wanted for my colour palette, where I didn't have a matching In Color Blend, I went with colours that were close. So I have used my Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Call Me Clover, Soft Suede, Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch and Calypso Coral Blends.

The sentiment, which comes from the Let It Ride stamp set, is stamped in Blueberry Bushell ink.

My card base is Crumb Cake and I layered strips of the 2018-20 In Color cardstock on top. I attached some small pieces of the 2018-20 In Color 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon to the back of my Stitched Square before adhering to my card base using some Mini Dimensionals.

Hope you like it..... I know I do. The bright rainbow of colours just makes me happy :)

All The Best Ribbon Card | Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Challenge #033

Hi and thanks for visiting :)

Today marks the start of our latest fortnightly challenge over on the Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Facebook Group.

Our latest challenge #AWLSU033 is an "Add Ribbon" challenge. So all you need to do to enter is just add some ribbon to your project. Easy as :)

Myself and the other group admins will share our creations to start off each challenge and hopefully help kick-start and inspire your creativity.

If you live in Australia and are interested in participating in our fortnightly challenges, click here to join the group :)

The layout for my card today was inspired by the new Paper Players Sketch Challenge #447.

****************************

Our new challenge theme of "Add Ribbon" was my suggestion, because I am sure there are a lot of you out there who, just like me, have a HUGE stash of ribbon that you either just forget to use on your projects and/or you only use a little bit so it takes forever to use up a roll.

So, if you are a ribbon collector like me.... then this challenge is for YOU!

As you can see I added some ribbon.... a lot of ribbon in fact, well actually it is pretty much the only thing on my card :)

I have such a large collection of different ribbons in a huge range of colours, I decided to make my card a rainbow of changing colours. For this card I have gone from pink to purple to red to orange and then yellow. I am planning on whipping up another using yellows, greens and blues.... so keep an eye out over the next week (provided my studies don't get in the way).

To create my card I cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock and pretty much covered one side in Fast Fuse. If you don't have Fast Fuse, Snail or Double-sided tape would work as well (I wouldn't recommend using Multipurpose Liquid Glue as it will seep through the ribbon).

I then went to my ribbon collection and just added 1 piece of ribbon at a time, starting in the top left hand corner, working my way down. Make sure you leave enough overhang to be able to tuck and adhere the edges to the back of your cardstock strip. For this I added more Fast Fuse around the edges on the back of my cardstock piece and folded the ribbon around and stuck it down.

My card base is Whisper White Thick cardstock and I adhered my ribbon panel using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment comes from the First Frost stamp set and is stamped in Poppy Parade ink on a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock. I have adhered it over the top of the ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals (as they are just a little thicker than the Mini ones) and I added a little double sided tape in the middle to stick it to the ribbon (probably not needed, but I didn't want it to move or lift up).

If you are interested to know the ribbon colour rainbow/order I used, here it is: Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Lovely Lipstick, Berry Burst, Rich Razzleberry, Fresh Fig, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Grapefruit Grove, Peekaboo Peach, Crushed Curry and Hello Honey.

Most of the ribbons I have used are retired and so are some of the colours, but you could create this using any ribbons you happen to have at home.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
