Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Sarah Berry

Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special Crazy Crafters team blog hop.

We are hopping with a special guest - The very talented and inspiring Sarah Berry from the UK.

The theme of this blog hop was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Sarah's cards.

Here is the card of Sarah's that I chose to CASE:

This is an oldie of Sarah's from 2016, but I just loved the layout and thought it was going to work perfectly for a Baby Congratulations card I needed to make.

To checkout Sarah's card in more detail click here.

Here is my version:

I started off by stamping the cute elephant from A Little Wild in memento ink on some Whisper White cardstock and then coloured it using my Stampin' Blends (Light & Dark Smoky Slate and the retired Light & Dark Pink Pirouette - as I don't have the new light pink Blends yet). Then I used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch at the top of my cardstock piece, and stapled a small piece of the Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon through the tag hole at the top.

The sentiment, from the Petal Palette stamp set, is heat embossed in White on a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and then cut out using the co-ordinating framelit from the Petals & More set. This was then adhered to my tag using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

My cardbase is Blushing Bride with a Whisper White layer on top. The Blushing Bride dot patterned designer series paper is from the Tropical Escape pack.

To finish off the card, I adhered my tag to my cardbase using some Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

I felt the card was missing something, so I popped on a cute Blushing Bride Enamel Heart above the elephant.

The little heart came from the Subtles Enamel Shapes, which are sadly retired, however you could easily replace it with another embellishment of your choice :)

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)

Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop | Theme: 3D Project

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects inspired by our 3D Project theme.

The full line up below will guide you through all the projects and I'd love to hear from you on what your favourite 3D project is or if there is something you'd really like to try but haven't yet.

This months 3D project lined up perfectly with a super special milestone birthday card I needed to create, so I thought I would try my hand at a pop up card. I used a fab tutorial video by Jay Soriano from Mitosu Crafts, click here to see his video.

I haven't created one of these before, but it is something I have always wanted to try. And what better reason to give it a go than your Mum's 70th Birthday.

My colour inspiration for this card was taken from the latest Fab Friday #146 Colour Challenge.

********************

My Mum love orchids so I just had to use the Climbing Orchid & Orchid Builder Framelits for my card.

The base is made using the Window Box thinlits, and I have also used the hexagon pattern die from this set for my Balmy Blue background (plus I've sponged a little Balmy Blue ink behind it).

You might (or might not) notice I have used a couple of other stamp sets and framelits in my card: Seasonal Layers thinlits for the orchid stems and Dragonfly Dreams for the dots decorating the hexagon card base.

The back was decorated using the retired Number of Years stamp set and my new favourite purple, Gorgeous Grape and there is enough room to write a message at the bottom.

Tip: Make sure you write on the cardstock before you join this piece to the base :)

The perfect thing about this card is that it can fold flat for placing in an envelope (or posting). You'll definitely need to make a custom sized envelope for this type of card and I'll be whipping out my Envelope Punch Board to make a special sized envelope for this card.

What a surprise the recipient will get when they remove what they think is a normal card from the envelope.

Here is the decorated top piece of the pop up card (prior to the card being fully assembled).

I have used a combination of Gorgeous Grape (ink), Highland Heather (ink & cardstock), Powder Pink (ink) and Very Vanilla (cardstock) for my orchids. The leaves and stems are Tranquil Tide.

For the lighter orchids, I used Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped the image in Gorgeous Grape and then using a sponge dauber added some light Highland Heather colour.

Below you can see the finished base.

Using Powder Pink ink, I stamped the dot pattern from Dragonfly Dreams around the base. I recommend decorating the 2 base pieces before you glue them together.

Once the base was together, using Tear and Tape adhesive, I added some Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon along the bottom of my card base.

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope you'll join us again next month to see our projects showcasing a paper crafting technique.

Don't forget to continue the hop all the way around to see what the amazing Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team have come up with.

Thinking of you CAS card | Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Challenge #014

Hi and thanks for visiting :)

Today marks the start of our latest fortnightly challenge over on the Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Facebook Group.

Our latest challenge #AWLSU014 is a Theme challenge. Be inspired by the letter "T".

Myself and the other group admins will share our creations to start off each challenge and hopefully help kick-start and inspire your creativity.

If you live in Australia and are interested in participating in our fortnightly challenges, click here to join the group :)

*****************************

Today's card was also inspired by the latest Inspire. Create. Sketch Challenge #026

My "T" inspiration includes: tree, Tranquil Tide & Thinking of you. I have combined these 3 into a quick and easy CAS (Clean & Simple) masculine Thinking of you card. Hope you like it :)

This card was super quick and easy to put together once I had the idea in my head.

Start off by stamping the tree ring image from the Rooted in Nature stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink on to a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Adhere this to a Tranquil Tide card base.

My sentiment, from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, is also stamped in Tranquil Tide ink on a small scrap of Whisper White. Cut the end at an angle.

Lastly I grabbed a small piece of the retired Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon and cut one end at a similar angle to my sentiment piece. The ribbon has been layered under the sentiment with the cut end on an opposite angle to the sentiment cardstock piece.

If you don't have the ribbon, you could easily substitute in a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
