Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Susan Wong

Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special Crazy Crafters team blog hop.

We are hopping with a special guest - The amazing Susan Wong from New Zealand.

Susan is a stay at home mum of 4 children and I know what kind of achievement that is in itself, but in addition to this, she has been chosen to be part of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team TWICE! This is something a lot of us aspire to achieve once.

The theme of this blog hop was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Susan's cards.

Here is the card of Susan's that I chose to CASE:

I thought this card was so adorable and I loved the sponged background behind the rabbit.

Here is my version:

My card idea was for a hot air balloon to float over the sponged area. So I have white heat embossed a hot air balloon image from the Lift Me Up set on some vellum. This has been die cut using the co-ordinating Up & Away thinlits.

Using my Bermuda Bay ink pad and a sponge dauber, I sponged a rough circle in the middle of my Whisper White card base.

My sentiment is also from the Lift Me Up stamp set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay.

The hot air balloon has been attached using some dimensionals to raise it off the card.

As a finishing touch and to add a little bling to my card, I included a couple of randomly placed Silver sequins.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)

Stamp Ink Paper Sketch Challenge #109

Unfinished projects... we all have them.

I don't know about you, but I have a growing pile of partially completed cards and bits & pieces that I always plan on getting back to, however it just doesn't seem to happen.

Well, today I am sharing some card bits & pieces from my pile that have now been turned into complete cards with help from this weeks Stamp Ink Paper Sketch Challenge #109.

When I made a set of cards using the subtles collection for an Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team blog hop, I stamped a number of extra die cut pieces of cardstock with the intention of making additional cards. Well those pieces have sat on my table in my unfinished pile for over a month now, until today :)

Here is my finished collection of subtle collection cards inspired by the Stamp Ink Paper sketch:

Marina Mist

Blushing Bride

Pear Pizzazz

Pool Party

Calypso Coral

Soft Sky

Wisteria Wonder

Pink Pirouette

So Saffron

Wild Wasabi

I am on a mission this year to try and use up all the retired Designer Series Paper and ribbons I have been hoarding (yes, I will admit it, I am a crafting hoarder and I have a problem - that is step one right? acknowledgement).

So I pulled out my retired Subtles Designer Series Stack and cut a card front for each colour in the collection. I also dived into my ribbon stash to find any that were in the subtles family. I was surprised that I did not have any ribbon in Pink Pirouette or So Saffron - so for these 2, I just used Whisper White ribbon.

My cards use a mix of new/current & retired products. The current products I have used are the Subtles collection cardstock and inks, Subtles Enamel Shapes, the new Mini Dimensionals, Stitched Shapes framelits and Whisper White classic weave ribbon. The current stamp sets used are Colourful Seasons, Climbing Orchid, Bunch of Blossoms & Flourishing Phrases.

Another fear I have is hiding how I attach ribbons to a card. But for these cards, I stepped out of my comfort zone and used my mini stapler and I am quite happy that they look alright with the staple showing. Using a stapler makes them sooooo much easier and quicker to attach.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
