Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop | Theme: Technique

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects created using a paper crafting technique. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects.

Now, I'm not 100% sure what the exact name of the technique I used today is, however I would call it something like multi-colouring stamps using sponge daubers. If you know what the proper name of this technique is, please let me know in the comments below :)

I teamed this technique with a couple of card challenges for my creation. The latest Global Design Project #160 - Case the Designer inspired my layout and my colour palette came from Colour INKspiration #43.

The colours in the Colour INKspiration challenge are the 2018-20 In Colors. You could use as many of these colours as you liked, so I chose to combine Lovely Lipstick & Call Me Clover.

*************************************

To ink up the floral image from the First Frost Stamp Set using multiple colours, you'll need your Call Me Clover & Lovely Lipstick ink pads and 2 sponge daubers. Apply ink using the sponge daubers to the required areas of your stamp. I used Call Me Clover on the leaves and part of the stems in between the flowers first, then I applied Lovely Lipstick to the flower parts of the stamp.

If you would like to see another example of using sponge daubers to apply multiple colours to your stamped images, please check out the pretty tropical card I created about 2 weeks ago by clicking here.

My first stamped image was on a scrap of Whisper White, so I could cut it out using the co-ordinating framelit from the Frosted Bouquet dies.

I repeated the multi-coloured inking on my stamp twice and stamped the image directly on my Whisper White card front.

The sentiment is also from the First Frost stamp set and has been stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a strip of Whisper White.

To put the card together I adhered a Pearlized Doily over the stamped flowers on my card front. I then adhered the sentiment strip and using some double sided tape adhesive I added a small piece of Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon. Lastly I added the die cut flower over the top.

I felt the card needed a little something extra, so I added a few Basic Pearls that were coloured using my Lovely Lipstick Dark Stampin' Blends marker. These were easily placed on my card using the new Take Your Pick tool.

OMG! this was my first play with the new Take Your Pick tool and I can't believe how easy it made placing the pearls where I wanted them. If you don't have this tool, I can highly recommend you get one and once you've tried it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
