Chase Your Dreams | Shaker Card

Today I have a fun shaker card to share and hopefully inspire you, that doesn't require any stamps or inks.

It has been nearly 3 years since I made my first ever shaker card for my youngest son's 4th birthday, and I've been meaning to make another shaker card for ages and the latest Stamp Ink Paper Shaker Card Challenge #196 was the push I needed to give it a go again.

I needed a little extra help with my card, so my layout was inspired by this weeks Global Design Project Sketch Challenge #186 and I just loved the April Stampin' Up! Colour Challenge colour palette.

******************************************************

Using the Layering Squares Framelits, I cut out a Coastal Cabana frame, as well as a Window Sheet/clear plastic square.

(Tip: I like to keep the clear plastic that comes with some packaged products - these are perfect to use for shaker cards if you like to reuse and recycle or if you don't have any Window Sheets lying around).

The Chase Your Dreams Framelits were used to cut out the Highland Heather dream catcher and the Melon Mambo "dream". The Coastal Cabana lace like trim was cut using the lace die from the Doily Builder Thinlits (which I needed to shorten a little).

All these pieces were glued together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Once dry, I placed a some Foam Adhesive Strips on the underside in a complete square (Tip: make sure there are no gaps or you might loose some of your shaker bits).

My little heart shaker pieces were cut using the row of hearts die from the Everyday Jars Framelits, in Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather, Melon Mambo & Very Vanilla.

To help me put the card together without loosing all the little hearts and being able to centre my shaker on the cardbase, I cut a square of Very Vanilla cardstock that was adhered to the back of the shaker to close it up, by attaching it to the sticky part of the Foam Adhesive Strips. This was then attached to my Very Vanilla Thick card base using some Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
