Thank You Card | Bella & Friends

Today's card is a creation inspired by a couple of creative challenges.

It has been a while, but I have finally been able to participate in a What Will You Stamp? Challenge, as usually I don't have the stamp set being featured. But this week, to my delight the WWYS Challenge #98 is highlighting the cute Bella & Friends stamp set - which I own :)

My layout was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #270 Challenge.

And my colour scheme was inspired by the Stamp Ink Paper #81 Colour Challenge.

Here is my card:

My colour combination is Basic Black, Whisper White & Real Red. I have White heat embossed my bird and partial sentiment from the Bella & Friends stamp set and my die cut Thanks is from the Hello You thinlits set. I have added some subtle (and hard to photograph) sparkle to the heart in the birds beak using my clear Wink of Stella pen.

If you are anything like me and love to collect washi tape, but just can't bring yourself to use it or just don't know how to use it on a project, it is a super quick and easy way to pretty up the inside of a card. Here I have used some retired washi tape in Real Red.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest - Sandi Maclver

Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special Crazy Crafters team blog hop.

We are hopping with a special guest - The inspiring Sandi Maclver from Canada.

The theme of this blog hop was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Sandi's cards.

My creation is also my entry in this weeks Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #80 - Card Makers Choice.

Here is my version:

I have gone with the same clean and simple layout as Sandi, however I chose to use the brand new Oh So Succulent stamp set and matching Succulent framelits from the new Occasions Catalogue. (These can be purchased as a bundle at a 10% discount).

For my succulents & sentiment, I have used Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi & Sweet Sugarplum inks.

The So Succulent stamp set is a "2 step" set where you have an outline image and a matching solid image. All my succulents were stamped in the same colours, I just used a sponge dauber on the solid image stamp to remove some ink to make it a little lighter.

For my large succulent I applied a combination of Bermuda Bay & Pool Party inks using sponge daubers to the solid image stamp to make some subtle colour differences. The outline image is in Bermuda Bay. This shape was cut out using the co-ordinating framelit and then attached to my card with some dimensionals.

All done, a simple but pretty card. I hope you like it.
