Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest - Amy Koenders

Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special Crazy Crafters team blog hop.

We are hopping with a special guest - The inspiring Amy Koenders.

The theme of this blog hop was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Amy's cards.

Here is the card of Amy's that I chose to CASE:

I only recently purchased the new 2016-2018 In Colour collection, and they are such an awesome collection of colours, I just can't understand why it took me so long. So .... like Amy, I decided to make a set of cards using all of the colours in this collection.

Here are my versions:

Flirty Flamingo

Sweet Sugarplum

Emerald Envy

Peekaboo Peach

Dapper Denim

I just loved the layout of Amy's cards as well as how she stamped the images in the same colour ink as the cardstock.

To make mine, I cut out 3 different sized rectangles (see below for the sizes**) in each of the new in colours, and stamped one of the small flowers from the Blooms & Wishes sets in a random pattern on the largest pieces in the matching ink colour. The middle sized pieces were run through my big shot with the Petal Burst embossing folder. For the smallest pieces I used the stamp off technique (to get the lighter images) with one of the bud branch images from the Blooms & Wishes stamp set and just stamped the image a number of times in the same area.

My sentiments also come from the Blooms & Wishes stamp set and were stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed using White embossing powder.

I adhered my coloured cardstock pieces on to some Whisper White cardstock and then trimmed them all to have a small white border.

Before assembling my cards using snail, I cut a small DSP strip of each colour from the In Colour Designer Series Paper stack, and used the Triple Banner punch to cut the bottom of each strip.

I am very happy with how these turned out and I hope you like them too :)

(**My cardstock sizes: Large 9.5cm x 13.8cm, Medium 6.5cm x 9.5cm & Small 4.5cm x 7cm)

So..... in addition to only recently getting the new In colour collection, I took advantage of the current 25% off sale to get my hands on the gorgeous Blooms & Wishes stamp set. Check out the sale details below - but you can get this and a number of other stamp sets at 25% off, that co-ordinate with the newly release Stitched Shapes framelits (which I also purchased :) )

Butterfly Basics | Freshly Made Sketches #262

Welcome and thanks for stopping by :)
Welcome and thanks for stopping by :)

I have been wanting to try out the spotlight technique for a while now, and I just recently received my set of the new Stitched Shapes framelits which I also wanted to have a play with. And I thought the new framelits would work well for a first try at the spotlight technique.

I just wasn't sure on how I was going to combine the two.

There is nothing better when you are having inspiration issues, than to check out all the creative challenge blogs out there. And this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #262 sketch challenge inspired my card layout.

Today's card is also my entry for this weeks Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlight.

Here is my card:

I started out by stamping the flower image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set twice on some Whisper White cardstock using Stazon Jet Black ink.

I then used the 2nd smallest circle from the new Stitched Shapes Framelits set to cut out just the flower section of one of my stamped images. And then coloured the flower using my Blender Pen and Daffodil Delight & Pear Pizzazz ink pads, with a little Crushed Curry for the centre of the large flower. I then add a little clear Wink of Stella to the centre of the large flower for a little sparkle.

The stripe image is also from the Butterfly Basics and was stamped in Daffodil Delight. The sentiment also in Daffodil Delight comes from the Blooms & Wishes stamp set.

I placed a few dimensionals on the back of my stitched circle die cut and then lined up the image with the black & white image underneath.

To finish of the card I decided to go with Pear Pizzazz cardstock for my card base.

A lovely and fairly simple (not too busy) card which was pretty quick and easy to make. I am very happy with the end result and I hope you like it too.
