Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop | Theme: Occasions/Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects inspired by the new and upcoming Occasions or Sale-A-Bration catalogue (both of which will be available to view and purchase from on 3rd January 2018). The full line up below will guide you through all the projects.

Being a demonstrator has its perks and we get to pre-order items from upcoming catalogues before they are released. It is easy to want to buy it all, but I restrained myself and purchased my top 2 must haves and got to select a free stamp set from the items on offer as part of the upcoming Sale-A-Bration promotion. It is the free Sale-A-Bration stamp set I chose, that I have used for today's card.

The set I have used is called Epic Celebrations and is only available as a FREE Sale-A-Bration item, which you can earn if you spend $90 (before shipping) during the Sale-A-Bration period of 3rd January 2018 till 31st March 2018.

This is a great masculine set, and I've used it to make a Birthday Card for a 9yr old Boy.

My card layout has been inspired by this weeks Global Design Project Sketch Challenge.

Here is my card:

My card is clean, simple and quick to put together.

The guitar image from Epic Celebrations is stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Memento black ink and coloured using a combination of Blendabilies/Blends, Stampin' Write Markers and a Classic Ink Pad and blender pen.

I used my Bronze retired Blendabilites marker, Crumb Cake & Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers and my Dapper Denim ink pad and blender pen to colour in the guitar.

I have a quick photo tutorial below, showing how I cut out the guitar within my Stitched Shape Circle and had part of the guitar extend past the edge of the circle.

My card base is Whisper White and I've taken a Dapper Denim sheet from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack for my background. Using my trimmer I cut the edge off and adhered it to my card front with a small gap. I had a smaller scrap of this DSP sheet lying around, so I heat embossed my sentiment in White on the reverse side (which was solid in colour), and then cut it out using the small Stitched Shape Square.

I adhered my pieces with snail and all done. The hardest part of making this card was deciding how I was going to colour the guitar. Hope you like it :)

Below is a quick photo tutorial on how I cut out the guitar image with part of it continuing outside the circle.

Stamp your image and line up where you want the framelit to cut

Mark in pencil where the framelit will come to

Cut around the image to a little past the lines you've drawn,
so the framelit will fit under and line up with your pencil mark

Place on your big shot, making sure the cut out part is over the
top of the framelit (otherwise you'll cut it off)

After it has been run through the big shot

Framelit removed. Image cut out within the circle framelit
with part of the image continuing past the circle edge.

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope you'll join us again next month to see our projects sharing a crafting technique.

Don't forget to continue the hop all the way around to see what the amazing Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team have come up with.
