Butterfly Basics | Freshly Made Sketches #262

Welcome and thanks for stopping by :)
Welcome and thanks for stopping by :)

I have been wanting to try out the spotlight technique for a while now, and I just recently received my set of the new Stitched Shapes framelits which I also wanted to have a play with. And I thought the new framelits would work well for a first try at the spotlight technique.

I just wasn't sure on how I was going to combine the two.

There is nothing better when you are having inspiration issues, than to check out all the creative challenge blogs out there. And this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #262 sketch challenge inspired my card layout.

Today's card is also my entry for this weeks Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlight.

If you love my card, I'd love it if you voted for me :)

Here is my card:

I started out by stamping the flower image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set twice on some Whisper White cardstock using Stazon Jet Black ink.

I then used the 2nd smallest circle from the new Stitched Shapes Framelits set to cut out just the flower section of one of my stamped images. And then coloured the flower using my Blender Pen and Daffodil Delight & Pear Pizzazz ink pads, with a little Crushed Curry for the centre of the large flower. I then add a little clear Wink of Stella to the centre of the large flower for a little sparkle.

The stripe image is also from the Butterfly Basics and was stamped in Daffodil Delight. The sentiment also in Daffodil Delight comes from the Blooms & Wishes stamp set.

I placed a few dimensionals on the back of my stitched circle die cut and then lined up the image with the black & white image underneath.

To finish of the card I decided to go with Pear Pizzazz cardstock for my card base.

A lovely and fairly simple (not too busy) card which was pretty quick and easy to make. I am very happy with the end result and I hope you like it too.
